About the Organization

Role of the Austin Association
of Hispanic Firefighters

The Austin Association of Hispanic Firefighters (AAHFF) is committed to pursuing positive community engagement through a variety of programs and initiatives. Its members frequently volunteer their valuable time to give back to the community they serve, while promoting a positive and professional image for Hispanic and Latino Firefighters.

The AAHFF is dedicated to supporting its members and their goals, both professionally and personally. Its developmental mission encompasses mentorship, encouraging career advancement through educational resources and training, a robust and close support network, and active recruitment efforts aimed at enhancing diversity within AFD.

The organization's goal is to promote leadership development among young Latino Firefighters. The AAHFF also serves as a distinctive bridge between the fire department and the Hispanic community, conducting outreach programs and fire safety education aimed at building community trust.

Carrying Forward a Legacy

We honor those who came before us. Those who blazed the trail. Those that believed in doing what was just. For centuries, they stood tall, paving the way with honor and determination.

Their legacy — of past, present, and future Latino Firefighters — will continue to light the path for generations, inspiring us to never forget and to carry their sacrifices forward with pride and purpose.

Their spirit will forever be our guiding force.
